Guarantee of Authenticity
Each of the British Airways Concordes had 100 passenger seats. These
500 seats come from 5 of these aircraft. They were removed from them by British
Airways and placed in store two years before the aircraft were finally withdrawn
from service.
Each seat will be supplied with two guarantees of its authenticity:
a framed Certificate of Authenticity
a discreet, engraved plate on the seat itself
stating the seats origin and its number as one of a limited edition of 500.
In the case of seats 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D this information will also be included.
Seating on Concorde
Seats on Concorde were arranged in pairs on either side of the central
aisle so each row had 4 seats. There were 25 rows but because the number 13
is considered unlucky there was no row 13, instead the rows were numbered
from 1 to 12 and from 14 to 26.
Of the four front row with seats, 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D, were considered by many
to be the most desirable. Of these, seat 1A has the reputation of being the
most exclusive of all. Among the many famous Concorde passengers who travelled
in seat 1A over the years were the Queen, the Queen Mother, Prince Charles
and the late Princess Diana.
